Ten on Tuesday (back by popular demand)

Ok, no one really demanded this at all but I am posting ten random things just because I want to.

1. A few new blogs of note! Doug's brother and his wife Mari have started The Jones Farm blog and my sister-in-law Melissa has started one of her photos which I think are totally excellent!

2. Our church girls recently hosted a grandmother's shower for our dear friend and mentor, Brenda. Brenda, a published children's author, is working on her PhD while anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandchild in October. We thought we'd take her mind off of writing and asked her to come to dinner to tell us what all she's been up to lately with the books and her PhD and world travels. We met at Mellow Mushroom in the Vista and she was totally shocked about the party! She loved all the tidbits of advice and of course the fun supply of things for her house!

3. I am now the proud owner of not one, but 2 new tires for my car! Yes, I know I just got 4 new tires less than a year ago but because MUNGO HOMES doesn't clean the streets of our neighborhood and doesn't monitor the construction going on, I had nails/staples in 3 of my 4 tires and 2 were unable to be fixed. It's also worth noting that this is the 3rd time I have had something in my tires from since we moved in January!

4. There are lots of new babies on the way. Our sunday school class is expecting 10 between now and the beginning of February 2011! The Caicedo twins will be here by NEXT weekend and my first NIECE Lilly will be here by August!

5. When we were picking out the stuff for our new house last year, we thought it would be a nice touch to substitute lever handles for door knobs. This year - we're not thinking it was the best idea.

6. I ran once while I was at the beach and the soreness I had the next day (a lot) made me want to get back into running! Also, I am doing the MUDRUN again this year with Lindsay and Melissa so I HAVE to get in shape! I've run three times since last Tuesday which is pretty good considering we were out of town this past weekend!

7. We have done a few things to spruce up our living room. We have painted, hung a few pictures of Katie, and bought some new furniture. Here's a quick picture that shows our color scheme of light blue with khaki and cream. I love the houndstooth chair! It's the first piece of NON-SOLID furniture we have in our house.

8. The picture above also shows our newly shaved puppy! Jack got his first haircut recently and he really seems to be cooler which is a plus since now that we have a fence, he is going to be able to spend more time outdoors.

9. I have been at my new job for a little over a month now and I'm really enjoying it! It's a great fit for me and the people are great and the work is challenging but fun. My first big perk of the new job is a little travel. I get to go to Chicago in late July for a conference. Doug and I are going to try to make a little mini-vacation out of it if possible...which brings me to...

10. I hereby put my foot down for any more birthdays in my family for JULY. My cousin Josh was born July 1 thirty one years ago, my grandfather would've been 89 tomorrow, my dad will be $& on Thursday, my Aunt Maggie's birthday is July 12, Eric is turning 29 on the 18th and Lindsay will be 26 on the 29th. And don't forget AMERICA was born on the 4th - so really, I just can't fit any more celebrating into this month - so Mari, please save the pushing for August! Although, if you really can't hold it, I will find a way to fit her in of course!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE that chair and your new color scheme. I just painted our bedroom blue, so we were thinking alike! And Jack looks cute! Good job on the running... I really want to do it too, I'm just not sure when or how to fit it in, and it's bumming me out. If Chase didn't still get up during the night and make me exhausted, I could get up early and do it then. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

I definitely missed Ten on Tuesday! I've gotten back into running since I'm done BF - we need to go together sometime.

Heck no, I'm not going to wait till August if I can help it! So save an extra line in your calendar book for Lilly!
