B - bathing suit time at the pool! Katie really loved the pool. There was a large pool where she had to be held and a kiddie pool where she could run around on her own. She loved going from pool to pool and testing to make sure the pole for the stairs wasn't too "ot" (hot).

E - evenings on the beach with the family. It was hot and crowded during the day at the beach so Katie enjoyed the early evening time around 7pm each night to walk and play around on the beach. We even ventured out to do family beach portraits with a professional photographer but seeing how every picture I'm posting here is my own, you can guess how well those turned out.

She totally stole this bucket from some other kids on the beach and she KNOWS it!

A- Aquarium We went to Ripley's Aquarium with my dad one day while we were there. Katie's favorite part at the zoo always seems to be the aquarium part because she can really get up close and see things better. This aquarium was no different. She loved seeing everything right at her eye level and loved the tunnel where sharks and other animals were right overhead!

C - Cookout at the Park! Our last night there, we had a cookout at McLean Park near the beach. When I was in 6th grade, my friend Emily and I took a roll of 36 pictures of just DUCKS there. My mom accidentally got them printed in TRIPLES and was livid that I'd done that! Man am I thankful for digital photography! My dad grilled hamburgers while the rest of us fed the ducks and turtles. Later, my Uncle Marshall (Katie's Great Uncle Marshall) pushed Katie in the swings while I played on some super spinning thing that I am convinced was designed to make kids throw up!

H - Hangout time in the room Given the temperatures this time of year and the fact that Katie still needs naps (and so do I), we spent a nice chunk of time in the room hanging out. But this wasn't a bad thing given the insane amount of sports at our fingertips (World Cup Soccer, College World Series, and Wimbledon). Katie spent her time coloring and napping and watching the people on the beach. Doug also let me go the beach a couple of times during her nap time to get some sun and R&R for myself!

All in all, it was a great trip! Did I mention the two trips to Bob Evans? Don't judge us.

It has been wonderful to go to the same beach and the exact same room for over 20 years! So glad you and Doug were able to join us!
It was pure joy for your Dad and I to have Katie too...
Amazing-all of YOUR photos are worth millions...
Your pictures are a lot better. I love her face as she steals the bucket =)
