Katie loves bath time, especially when she can relax and cuddle up with a good book. She's about to outgrow the infant tub as every night she practices pulling up out of it. Katie is an excellent sitter, but there are times she absolutely refuses to sit and locks her legs and wants to stand like a big girl. She's pretty good at standing, but obviously needs one of us to help!
Katie is getting some curls up top! Her hair is certainly long enough for a bow and the curls really come out after her bath. It needs to be tamed before being presentable.
This is Katie threatening me with a knuckle sandwich if I don't put the camera away! She has really come into her own personality this month. I have so many pictures of her different facial expressions - she looks very pensive a lot, but I promise she does smile! She absorbs everything around her and loves to watch other babies and dogs.
This is Katie working on her "double inverted hinge" dance. She's trying to perfect it before she sees Uncle Curtis in July. He will be most proud!
Some 7 month stats:
She's too big for size 1 shoes, but not big enough for 2s - so she's barefoot most of the time.
She's in size 3 diapers.
She wears mostly 6-9 month shirts/onesies/dresses but she totally needs some 9-12 month pants...(See above pictures with rolls of thighs!)
She babbles a lot - mostly ahhh sounds with a few consonants popping in here and there.
She sleeps almost 11 hours at night (8pm - 630am).
Favorite food is sweet potatoes and ANY fruit - she's a good eater! (See above pictures with rolls of thighs!)
Katie still enjoys spending her days with Grandma SueSue and Baby Madison (that's her And 1 Basketball name). I try and soak up my evenings and weekends with her! Mondays are always super hard to leave her because I love our time together on the weekends! She is the best and totally brightens our world!

7 Months, Part 1
Katie's 7th month was met with some sleeping challenges, but I feel like it's getting better. She was waking up many times in the night and needed some help getting back to sleep. We were zonked for about 3 weeks - I thought she was about to cut some teeth, but she is still toothless!
We took our first real road trip to Virginia for Memorial Day Weekend. We had a family reunion with Doug's side of the family. We stayed in an awesome resort that had indoor and outdoor pools. Katie took her first dip in a pool and really seemed to like it. We've since been to the pool in our neighborhood a few times and she is enjoying it more and more.
She took her first sunbath -laid out by the pool in her bathing suit cover up. She was super tired from the water and the sun and dozed her typical 5 minutes before she was ready to go again.
This is Katie and Cole in their matching car floats which doubled as indoor toys too! They were so cute in their little cars and honked at one another!

What the What???
So for Mother's Day, my husband bought me a ONE YEAR (paid in full) membership to a downtown gym that offered aerobics classes during lunch every day of the week. I was so excited and have gone about 5 times and have really enjoyed the classes! It helps me not eat so much at lunch and helps me relieve stress from work and allows Doug to work out guilt free in the evenings knowing that I already had a chance to workout during the day.
NOT SO FAST! The gym closed! What the what? Closed for lunch? Closed for the afternoon? Closed for cleaning? NOPE! Closed for good. On the bright side, I can get my money back by going to the Department of Consumer Affairs and file a claim to get a pro rated refund. Sure thing, I will just do that at lunch since I obviously won't be working out! And after that, I will go buy some stretchy waist pants since I have lost all hope of losing my baby belly now!
Maybe Doug will pitch in for the pants since he owes me a Mother's Day gift!

The Grass, The Injuries, and the Debit Card
So here's the comedy of errors that is the last few days of my life:
Sunday: We had plans to move some of our furniture to a storage unit in order to make our house a little more marketable for selling purposes. Our brother in law, Marshall, helped us with a trailer and a truck to load up the excess stuff and haul it to storage for us. Before Marshall got there, we moved most of the stuff into the front yard. So then we load everything into the truck and head to storage. We return home and I realize we left the computer chair mat in the yard. "Oh well," I think to myself and carry it into the garage instead. Not so fast, apparently, we conducted a mini-science experiment by leaving that chair mat in the grass for approximately an hour. You see, this chair mat acted as a magnifying glass and KILLED, absolutely destroyed, the patch of grass underneath it. Not just any patch of grass, but a patch of grass on our brand new, beautifully manicured (thanks to Doug), ready to sell, curb appeal Grass! I feel awful, the grass looks ridiculous...The chair mat was ridiculously large. Any green thumbs out there???
Saturday/Sunday Combo: Katie has been a magnet for booboos lately. I'm beginning to think she's a mini version of Bella Swan. Or just a mini version of me - as I was incredibly accident prone as a child. We were playing on the bathroom counter looking in the mirror and she leaned too far over and bonked her head on the faucet. Sizeable scrape/skinning on the scalp. She is a very indepedent sitter, but has fallen backwards several times in the last few days in quite a dramatic fashion. And on Sunday, we were eating with family and one of the children with us accidentally pegged her with a jumbo bouncy ball on the arm. Let's just the say the 4 year old boy can plan a baseball pitching career with the speed at which he threw the ball.
Tuesday: I stopped at CVS on the way to work to get some chocolate milk and gum. Chocolate milk is my favorite drink (2nd is Cherry Coke). I love it, even though I know it's not that great for me. I guzzle it very quickly. Doug thinks I should savor it and drink it slower, but that takes the fun out of it. Anyway, I gathered my items on the counter and had them rung up. As usual, I had every intention of putting the $3 charge on my debit card. Debit Card - M.I.A. No clue where it is. The man at the counter, sensing my sadness, let me have the chocolate milk anyway. I didn't press my luck for the gum. Add to it the fact that I accidentally brought Katie's carrier with me to work today meaning I have stranded my mom at home. Also forgot my pump (for milk for katie). Add it all up and it equals a bad morning (chocolate milk is the highlight) and the consequences of no debit card and no pump means I will miss my much anticipated girls' night out dinner at California Dreaming.
I know this is just a bunch of complaining, but by writing it out, I feel some sort of amusement from it.
