What Do May Showers Bring?

The day before Mother's Day, I helped host a shower for my friend Amber who is expecting twin boys in mid July. There were about 6 of us who helped cook and decorate and plan for the shower. We had a lot of fun showering Amber and getting her ready for the boys!

Shelley brought little alphabet books and we used them to spell out the boys' names on each end of the table. This is also a nice shot of Brenna's sweet/salty brunch thing that was delicious!

All the girls contributed toys to the big ball to coordinate the colors of the boys' nursery. And the bowl was bookmarked by 2 Sophie the Giraffes - one for each of the boys to use for teething.

Amber got lots of good presents - including some beautiful knitted blankets. My favorite gift was a book from another friend called One Duck Stuck. Pamela (the giver of the book) is a kindergarten teacher and read the book to all of us - pretty much from memory. It was so good! I created a fun game with candy bars and made a really cool story to go with the names of the candy so that everyone could win some candy. The story even rhymed! I hope to use it at another shower - maybe for my sister in law, Mari, in June!
