We drove to Lumberton, NC with Grandma Jones and Uncle Eric to meet up with the Devoe's for a picnic in the park. We brought some good homemade sides and desserts and paired it with some KFC!
After lunch, we went on some nature walks and played for a while on the playground.

Dylan and Katie seemed to enjoy each other on the playground and Dylan even picked a pretty little flower for Katie.

Denny and Eric got into the spirit of the park as well - racing down slides...Clearly my hips were not meant for these slides as I got stuck trying to go down.

As usual, if we were outdoors, Katie was thrilled and living it up! She and Doug enjoyed playing on the slides and she went down a few times by herself. But she seems to prefer sliding with Daddy rather than going by herself!

Being a mom has been the most challenging job I've ever had - but it has the best benefits! Raising a child is such a privilege and I am so thankful God has given me the wisdom to get this far! I remind myself every day that Katie is the Lord's child and I have been entrusted with her and must not take that responsibility lightly. I am humbled and honored that God gave me such a beautiful little girl and He teaches me new things through her all the time. I love being a mom, but more than that, I love being Katie's mom!
