School's Out for the Summer!

This was Katie on her first day of school ever - 09/09/09! She loved her little walker and we lived at Doug's parent's house waiting on our house to be done. She wasn't walking yet and hardly had enough hair for a bow! She started spending Wednesday mornings at Weekday at Shandon and it was fantastic. The teachers did so much with the kids and my favorite part of Wednesdays was coming home and reading the newsletter about what all she had done that day in class. More often than not, a fun craft came home with her and we have them proudly displayed around the house!

This is Katie on her last day of her first school year - 05/19/10! We spent the morning before school singing "My Future's So Bright - I Gotta Wear Shades" - A favorite of elementary school graduations, but perhaps a bit premature for graduation from 1 year old school.

She has more than enough hair for a bow now and is even close to a ponytail! She loves being outdoors (hence the location of this photo shoot) and we're slowly but surely getting settled into our new house.

We had fun getting together little gifts to give our school teachers and making a card with pictures of Katie and Maddie together. The teachers did so much for the girls on their last day of school sending them home with little photo albums of their year in pictures!

It was such a great year and I think Katie really enjoyed the interaction with other kids. We miss weekday already and I am sure my mom misses the small break she had while the girls were there! We can't wait for next year to start and see how much she grows again!
