The Wedding

We went to White House, TN for my cousin's wedding a few weekends ago. White House is just north of Nashville and I had high hopes for doing some fun family things to celebrate Katie's 18 month birthday in Nashville, but most of the city was shut down due to flooding. We didn't even venture into Nashville which was at first disappointing, but getting to relax and just enjoy family time together at the hotel and the parks was even better than packing too much into our short stay.

Here is a shot of the happy couple - Josh and Tasha - who's names were mispronounced on several occasions over the weekend - Tash and Josha and Josh and Tashua...I sense that last one might just stick! Tasha looked absolutely gorgeous. This picture does not do her justice, but her dress was so pretty I had to post some sort of picture of it! Their wedding was so sweet and they had written their own vows which totally honored God and showed their own personalities and the uniqueness of their relationship! Josh and Tasha are in full time mission work and they are gonna do awesome things together!

Katie enjoyed getting her groove on with some of my cousins' kids. I think that makes them 2nd cousins or 1st cousins, once removed or something. My Uncle Bill would certainly know! Katie loves older kids and the girls just took her under their wing and out to the dance floor!

Then Katie got to do some moving and shaking with our family's best dancer - her Uncle Gabriel! They had a blast twirling around the dance floor! And I had a blast watching them. Gabriel and Nancy live in Texas and we hadn't seen them since December so it just warmed my heart that Katie latched onto them so well!

Maybe a little too well...This is Katie's face after the dance with Gabriel ended and she was left alone on the dance floor. So as to not disappoint my little ballerina, I joined her out there!

After the wedding, we got to take some much needed family pictures thanks to my friend Katie Smoak (her husband and my cousin are best friends so we were all at the wedding together!) I'm sure my mom will be trying to send these to everyone on Facebook or on her email, so I apologize in advance!

I honestly think this is the only picture I have of JUST the 3 of us! Yes - I planned our outfits to somewhat coordinate. I knew we were taking some pictures, so I rigged them as much as possible!

The 3 Girls - Aunt Nancy, Katie, and Me

The "Kids" - Doug, Me, Katie, Nancy, Gabriel

The Whole Family - I smell a Christmas Photo Card in the making!

I love that picture of Katie's face after the dance ended...priceless! The family pictures are great too! Good for you for getting the Christmas picture taken already, I hadn't even thought of that but maybe you just inspired me (instead of waiting til the last minute like usual :)

Love how the pictures turned out... I wish we had gotten one more big family picture facing the other direction to the sun wasn't in everyone's eyes but that's one nice looking family :)

Katie Bug,
I enjoyed our dance together. I miss you heaps and am so thankful for your mommy writing all about your adventures. I'm sorry I'm so far away but it's great to see your pictures.

Be sweet,
Uncle Gabe
