Sucker!

The other night Katie and I took a walk together with Jack while Doug was out bowling. I let her walk and we didn't take the wagon or the stroller. We met a few other neighbors while we were out and one of the ladies asked if she could give Katie a sucker. I said yes even though I had no intention of actually giving it to her. BUT, I had not thought the whole situation out very well because the minute Katie saw it - she wanted it! And now I was forced to give it to her or watch her have a meltdown in front of these people. So I unwrapped and let her have it. She actually did really well with it.

It was definitely messy and totally sticky, but she really seemed to enjoy it. She was so proud of herself and pulled the sucker out of her mouth every now and then just to look at what she was eating.

I got most nervous when she was trying to run around and play with it - I was worried she'd fall and it would go down her throat - so we tried to stand very still while we ate the sucker.

But as she always does, she pushed the boundaries and I had to take the sucker away. This is her "my mommy told me no and is now taking away my very first sucker" look. Don't worry - the look went away quickly. She is still easily distracted.

N.B. - I mentioned we were out walking while Doug was bowling...I totally have to brag on him about his night! He had a 700 series for the night which is fantastic but what's even cooler is that he had 11 strikes in his second game! 12 strikes = a perfect game (300)! I can't believe how close he was to a perfect game and I wish we could've been there!

We always used to be nervous letting Dylan eat lollipops too... so I totally understand!

Good job to Doug!

Oh my goodness...Cole loves suckers! You can't let him see one or he will have a nervous breakdown for it! I can't believe Doug was so close to a perfect game!! That's awesome!

Ty has gotten a sucker twice at the bank. He now associates the bank with them. We pull up and he says "more more" and signs it frantically. It is so messy but his face is worth it.
