I have a lot of crafty friends and family who design stationery, paint canvases, take fanstastic pictures, embroider anything, decorate cakes and the list goes on. But craftiness does not run thick in my blood. However, I have dabbled in the occasional DIY project around the house. Today's list is 10 things I've made...
1. In 4th grade, my grandmother and I took a sewing class in 5 Points. I made a skirt for myself and wore it all the time. I was so proud! I don't know where it is - but I'm sure it hasn't left my parents house. I want to go find it and put it on Katie one day.
2. In 7th grade, my cousin Zach was born and I made him a stuffed animal in my home/ec class at school. I picked out blue puppy dog pattern and it was seriously intense. I had to get lots of help from my grandmother.
3. For my parent's 20th wedding anniversary, my grandmother (notice a pattern???) and I made a quilt for them. We picked out lots of fun fabrics and she let me cut the squares and help with the sewing. I wasn't a very straight cutter so the quilt is not really perfect but the time spent making it with her sure was!
4. I made this name sign for Katie before she was born. Lindsay and I had a crafting afternoon at my house to make something for each of our babies. All it entailed was paint and hot glue, but I sure felt accomplished after finishing it. It hung over her closet at the old house and is now IN her closet here. It needs to get hung up again!
5. A few weeks ago, when Grandma Baggerly was here, I made churros - a spanish cinnamon pastry. It was my first time using pastry sheets and they were simple and easy and best of all, delicious!
6. OK, I don't really think "I" made this one, but I feel like I helped somehow and it totally bears mentioning! When I was a little girl and taking gymnastics, my dad built me a BALANCE BEAM! It was in our backyard and I got to practice on it all the time and make up routines. I think I remember helping hold the dark red carpet to it while my dad staplegun'ed it on. I passed it on to my neighbor when I grew out of it, but I will always love that thing!
7/8. Several years ago, I started learning to knit and found it so relaxing. I started out by making scarves and gave a few to friends one year for Christmas. I loved trying to pick out skeins of yarn that would match people's personalities! I also learned to knit purses and then turn them into felt purses. I had to knit "in the round" in order to make the purses and was able to knit patterns (mainly stripes) in the purses. I probably would've stuck with it and maybe even tried to sell them, but they took forever! One purse would take up to 10 hours to knit. It just wasn't worth it to me.
9. One more thing I made with my grandmother. One year for Christmas, we made stockings for every single person in the family. We must've made 17 stockings. We had all different kinds of red and green fabrics and then added lace, rick rack, bells, etc to each of the stockings making them unique for each person. Then we got to go shopping to fill them with all sorts of fun stocking stuffers!
10. Most recently, I made this wreath! I absolutely don't claim credit for it. I saw it on my friend Megan's blog. It sounded so easy so I ran to the dollar store to get the necessary materials. It turned out to really be very easy and now I have it on the front door. It's made of coffee filters! Can you believe it? Don't be surprised if you get one of these for Christmas from me!
What's your best crafty accomplishment?

You forgot the curtain box in your kitchen although maybe Doug takes full responsibility for that one but it's still worth noting. I doubt he had the idea!
So proud of you and honored to be mentioned on your blog!!!!!!! The wreath looks great!
