So you know how Google changes its logo every day (almost) to coincide with what is going on that day? Well, today I signed into my iGoogle account and hovered over the logo to see what it was for. Apparently it is Charles Darwin's 200th birthday. I know Darwin made a profound (yet sad) impact on history, there is someone much more deserving of the Google logo today.
Today is Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Also his 200th. The news said this morning that only Jesus and Shakespeare have had more written about them than Abraham Lincoln. He changed the course of history for the United States and ultimately the world.
What's up with that Google? Very sad.

I read about that in USA Today yesterday; it's interesting to compare Lincoln's overwhelming popularity to that of other historical figures.
I suppose Google figured that a Darwin theme allowed for a more colorful logo design. Either that or Google may have anti-American bias, which somehow I doubt. ;)
I too am Mad at Google. This is the second time in less than 2 months that Google chose to ignore something very significant in American History..the inauguration of the first Black/White President (he is both, you know) of the United States and the birthday of one of the most important figures of all time. What IS going on here? Has anyone seen a comment from Google? Charles Darwin??
P-L-E-A-S-E!!!
