A Day at the Farm

 

After church on Sunday, we headed out to Eric and Mari's house/farm in Camden for lunch. Uncle Eric grilled burgers while Katie met her new best friend - a dog named Suey. She absoltuely adored this dog and was gentle with her and Suey liked her just as much. Aunt Mari let Katie test out the swing in their new nursery (they find out Wednesday what they're having). Aunt Lindsay introduced Katie to Belmont and Laverne (2 of Mari's horses) and Katie seemed really comfortable with them. (Lindsay and Katie looked like twins in their cream colored coats and jeans.) Mari was willing to let me ride a horse (since I never have) but the offer was only good for Laverne - who is a miniature horse/pony that probably weighs what I weigh. I wasn't game for it, but Marshall gave it a good try...Belmont got a little protective of Laverne so I made sure Doug had his video camera going because I was sure we could earn $10,000 for what could potentially happen. Nothing ended up happening, but it sure came close. We all had a good time - Katie and Cole loved prowling around the farm seeing the horses, dogs, cat, chickens, moles, etc. Thanks for the fun afternoon!
