I had my 38 week doctor's appointment yesterday and they have made the official decision to induce me on Friday morning (11/14.) This will be one week shy of my actual due date, but I am certainly not complaining. We have to spend the night in the hospital Thursday night where they start something (just can't recall) and then they will start the Pitocin drip early Friday morning. The doctor has warned that we could be in for a long day and run a higher risk of having a c-section if I don't progress well.
Doug and I are really excited but I am so nervous at the same time. So many thoughts are running through my head, most of which have me asking if we are ready for this. But since the answer to that truly doesn't matter as we can't go back at this point, I am trying to get over it! I am working a half day today and then heading home to mentally prepare for the days ahead.
Please pray for us as we head to the hospital to meet our baby girl. The most comforting thing is knowing that God already knows everything that's going to take place this weekend for us! Of course, I wouldn't mind being let in on the secret, but that's not how it works!
We are so excited for our families getting a granddaughter or a neice and becoming grandparents and aunts and uncles. We can't wait for you all to meet her! We will keep you posted once she gets here!

it will all be a blur when it is over, Rach. I can hardly remember it now, and it was only 4 months ago. We can't wait to meet Katherine and are sad that we won't be there this weekend. We'd only be in the way but we'll be thinking/praying for y'all! Tell Doug to let us know as soon as she arrives!
Congratulations again, and here's wishing you the very best for Katherine's arrival!
Yea!!! I am so excited for you. who knows- you might not even need the cervidil. Make sure they check you- by the time they went to give it to me I was already well into labor.
You are going to have a great labor and delivery (I just know it!) and you'll get the most wonderful present at the end!!! I can't wait to see Katie!!! I'll be praying for you and Katie and waiting by the phone for the good news.

How exciting! Inductions are fabulous(all three of mine were induced!) and drugs are great...take any and all that they offer you!. Seriously, though, Friday will be one of the greatest days in your life. Nothing is sweeter than becoming a parent and laying eyes on your baby for the very first time. I get teary eyed just thinking about when my babies were born. We will be praying that your labor goes quickly, that your delivery goes well, and that Katherine is born perfectly healthy. Good luck and congrats!
congrats Rach and doug! we'll be on our way to check on you guys today or tomorrow.
so glad everything went well!
