I know I have been remiss in my blogging lately, but I just haven’t felt like showing everyone how large I am or bemoaning all the things I have on my to-do list. The truth is, we have been really busy and it has been a good busy. I’ve had baby showers for me and hosted one for Lindsay. We’ve had lots of September birthdays and some big birthdays coming in October. Our nephew Dylan turns ONE next weekend and our nephew Cole will be BORN in a few weeks.
We took childbirth education classes that were interesting to say the least. But Doug feels super sorry for me now after watching some of the videos. I am scared to death of the epidural, probably because I know that is the one thing I can’t do without! I am 34 weeks tomorrow and start my weekly visits on Tuesday. We are certainly in the final countdown!
The nursery is nearing completion and I can’t wait for the finished product!

So here’s my funny story for the week. I had to go to a training seminar yesterday for work on main campus USC with my boss. The training was from 2-4 pm and we got there at about 2:04pm. The seminar had apparently started right at 2pm, if not a little earlier. The auditorium was close to capacity, so my boss and I were scrounging for seats. I spied two seats on the end of one row and when I got there, one of the chairs had no seat cushion, so that wasn’t going to work. The row in front of that had 3 seats available but we had to scoot over a lady sitting on the aisle seat. This was a very small auditorium and the woman did not notice the size of my belly. I literally had to hoist my stomach over the chair in front of her (probably bashing someone in the head with my baby). Then I proceeded to the second available chair leaving the first one for my boss who was coming down the aisle next.
I unfolded the chair and sat down and the chair dropped me to the floor with a thud. I would like to think I didn’t break the chair, but I don’t really know for sure. (Remember the abovementioned largeness regarding my figure.) The seat part of the chair did not stop when it was parallel to the floor – it just kept going, hence my bum hitting the floor. Lots of people turned and stared. I think they were fearful I was going into labor.
About an hour into the seminar, I contemplated wetting myself in order to pretend my water had broken and plus I really had to go to the bathroom and I wasn’t going to try and scoot out of the aisle again. Alas, I thought better of it, and just held it a little while longer.

Always the trooper! I'm glad you weren't hurt.
Haha...you are hilarious!
Glad you are ok!
By the way, do not worry about the labor...I know this sounds weird, but I loved it...You will be so excited that you won't think about any of the scary stuff!
That reminds me of a similar story in college when Wilson tried to lean back in a chair but didn't know it was broken. He fell backwards in the middle of class. Not only did he do it once, but he forgot the seat was broken, leaned to the side, and fell again!!! I wish I had seen that!
Oh My! That would happen to you! They say that once you have given birth you may wet yourself when you laugh or sneeze, so the day may come when you don't have a choice! Something else to look forward to! Hope you have recovered from your fall to the floor!
this would only happen to you or me. did your boss give you his seat or did you stick with the broken one?
Bless your Heart!!!!
The needle in the back is so not painful or an issue! Like Sarah said you will be so into what is happening that you won't even be paying attention. I wan on top of the operating table ane was chattering away the whole time and it was done. YOU WILL BE A CHAMP! I just know it.
Oh wow! My son's bethrothed better not have been hurt :) Are you okay really? The epidural is worth the little bit of pain from the needle. The worst part is the position they make you get in to give you the shot! You have to be hunched over and I couldn't really breathe - but again it's worth it! You'll think about the scary stuff until you are holding her in your arms and then never again!
Great work.
