My birthday was Monday and I feel like I've been celebrating for quite a while! The celebration actually started a week earlier while we were in Floriday with Doug's family. All of his siblings and his parents brought me birthday presents so I had a little party a week before my birthday! Then on my birthday weekend we did dinner with my parents and his parents. And this week, I have had fun birthday meals with Doug, my dad, my mom, Jessica, my office - It's awesome!
Thanks to avid Facebookers, I felt wildly popular on my birthday! It was wonderful!
Here's a few other fun tidbits from this week - all very random...
Last Saturday, Jessica and I went to Michael's where she bought stuff to make a canvas for baby Katherine. I bought some stuff to do a ribbon bulletin board. Jessica worked on the canvas most of Saturday and it looks awesome! I can't wait to hang it in her room! She helped me do the bulletin board (actually, I helped her...) and that is going to be fun and bright for the room too!
Wednesday night, I started my new discipleship group at church. But first, I got to eat dinner at Zoe's with Amber and Jessica and we all got to eat for free thanks to my catering coupons I get at work! Who doesn't love free food??? Discipleship was nice- it's nice to be back with a group of girls and I am really looking forward to the semester.
Yesterday I went and walked at Riverwalk right after work - Shelley and I were stretching (our jaws, that is) and a girl came up and asked us if the White Rav4 in the parking lot was either of ours. Then she asked if we had seen anyone around the car. To each question, our response was no. Then, she walks over to the Rav4 and tries to open the driver's side door which is locked. Five minutes later PopALock comes and opens the Rav 4 for her. She goes to the passenger side and takes some things out and then gets back in her car! Was this sophisticated car robbery? No need to break in if you can just call PopALock! Something was really weird about the whole situation. I think we should all look into what credentials must be presented if you call PopALock!
My mom is in New York this week - she's never been before! She's having a great time seeing all the sights and eating lots of food. She went to Bloomingdale's yesterday and saw Lauren Conrad (LC) - but she had no clue who she was! I was very jealous - I wanted my mom to have told her to kick Lo to the curb b/c she's a troublemaker.
Tomorrow - Melissa and I are hosting a baby shower for Lindsay at my house...so this evening will be spent finishing up the cleaning as Melissa is doing most of the cooking. As well she should, have you seen her cooking blog???? She's phenomenal!
Lastly - I've added a few more blogs to my blog stalker links to the right...Just more people to enjoy keeping up with!
Now lastly (for real), my friend Trey Kelly and his wife, Dani (blog links to the right) have just moved to Myrtle Beach to start a church. I can't think of a bigger way to completely step out of your comfort zone and put total trust in God. Please go to Trey's blog if you're so inclined and read about Wellspring Church in Myrtle Beach. There are ways to help financially, but they're also asking for people to commit to praying for the church! I don't know anyone who has ever planted a church before, so I don't even know exactly what to pray for - but Trey lists some real specific needs and I know he'd appreciate the prayer!
Signing off - Go COCKS! (I really detest Georgia)
